Students are always looking for information. Many of our students are trying to decide what part of ECE they are interested in pursuing. Others are curious about launching their own businesses. Some have questions about their desired research or designs. Mentors can play a pivotal role in equipping students with the information they seek. Alumni have navigated the engineering world and can use that experience to help our students best prepare for life after graduation.

  • Discuss how your education prepared you for your career

  • Share information about a current event or issue in your field

  • Recommend helpful networking strategies

  • Introduce your student to colleagues or other contacts

  • Offer guidance on where to look for job/internships in your field

  • Critique your student's resume and/or cover letter

  • Lead your student through a mock interview

The delicate balance of mentoring someone is not creating them in your own image, but giving them the opportunity to create themselves. ~ Steven Spielberg
